St. Mark’s and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Churches will host a dessert and silent auction night Sunday, Dec. 6, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the St. Mark’s Church Hall on Allen Farm Road, Ashland.
There is a $5 charge at the door, but that will include all the desserts you can eat. Come and bid on some great items. All money raised from this event will go toward the heating costs at both churches.
This event is open to the public; everyone is welcome to come and enjoy some Christmas spirit! For more information, contact Church Council president Sheila Nemer at 227-8036.
Portage Christmas Party
The Portage Lake Community Christmas Party will be held at the Portage Lake Town Hall building Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 5 p.m.
This is a potluck and BYOB event, sponsored by the Portage Lake Tourism Committee. All community members, families and residents of the surrounding communities are welcome. There is no cost for admission, but those attending are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food items for the Ashland Food Pantry.
Santa will make an appearance for the kids; call 435-4361 to let organizers know how many are coming with you. There will also be a movie room for anyone who likes a good animated holiday movie!
Theresa Spooner will be on hand to take family photos; the costs associated with the pictures will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
