     DUROST, Charles E. “Sharkie”, 71, BLAINE, December 15, 2015 Arrangements are under the care of Funeral Home, Mars Hill.

    BLAINE – Charles E. “Sharkie” Durost, 71, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2015, at his residence. He was born March 1, 1944, in Mars Hill, the son of Charles and Marion (Bubar) Durost.
American Flag Color    He served in the U.S. Army. Charles “Sharkie” worked as self-employed carpenter. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He was a member of the American Legion in Mars Hill.
    “Sharkie” is survived by his mother, Marion Durost of Mars Hill; his wife, Avis (Morrison) Durost of Blaine; two sons, Bev Jewett and his wife, Janice, and Troy Durost and his significant other, Amanda, all of Mars Hill; a daughter, Kathy Phillips and her husband, George of Harvey, N.B., Canada; a sister, Joanne Kinney and her husband, Harold of Blaine; seven grandchildren, Bailee, Emilee and Will Durost, Toby and Bobby Phillips, Holly Ellis, and Caleb Jewett; and seven great-grandchildren.
    Relatives and friends called 12 noon, Saturday December 19, 2015, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main Street, Mars Hill, where funeral services with military honors were held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kurt Kinney officiating.
