The Chapman board meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. and Mapleton’s will be Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. to review and approve the towns’ budgets. All meetings are open to the public.

If any residents are interested in learning more about the budget prior to the town meeting, call Town Manager Jon Frederick at 764-3754 or email townmanager@mapleton.me. If there are enough interested residents, a meeting will be scheduled. Otherwise, Frederick will have an individual meeting with anyone interested.

Church luncheon

The Mapleton United Methodist Church will host their monthly luncheon this Friday, Feb. 5 at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Soup and chowder night

The Castle Hill Advent Christian Church will host a soup and chowder night on Saturday, Feb. 6, starting at 5 p.m. The church is located at 5 Richardson Rd. in Castle Hill.
There is no charge for the meal, but donations will be accepted for future outreach programs. The public is welcome to attend.

Chapman Ridge Runners

The Chapman Ridge Runners will meet Saturday, Feb. 6 at the clubhouse. Appetizers will be served at 5:30 and members attending are asked to bring a dessert to share.
Games will be played, so members are encouraged to bring a favorite card or board game.

Fundraising challenge

The staff at the Mapleton Town Office are raising funds for Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education and Recovery (C.A.N.C.E.R.) and the upcoming Planet Head Day on Feb. 20.
The staff is selling 50/50 raffle tickets with the hopes of raising $1,500 by the 20th. If they meet their goal, Town Manager Frederick has agreed to have his head shaved.
Tickets can be purchased at the Town Office and are $1 each, 6 for $5 or 15 for $10. A GoFundMe account has also been created for this challenge and baked goods will be sold as well. All proceeds will be donated to C.A.N.C.E.R.
