The Washburn Trailrunners Club is raffling off a quilt. The beautiful wildlife-themed quilt, made by some of the ladies from Washburn’s A Stitchin’ and a Givin’ group, measures 75×85 inches.
Tickets are $10 each, and only 200 will be sold. Tickets can be purchased at the Trailrunners Clubhouse on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Sundays between 7 a.m. and 12 noon, as well as and during the clubhouse open hours during the school vacation week in February.
The drawing for the quilt will be on March 27 at 2 p.m.
August Fest
It’s not too early to be thinking about the Washburn August Festival for 2016. Community participation is what makes it happen. Anyone interested in sponsoring or working on an activity or event is encouraged to attend the meetings.
The next meeting will be Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Washburn Rec Center.
Now serving
Washburn’s Trailrunners Clubhouse is now open weekends throughout the snowmobile season for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and for lunch on Saturdays. They will be serving from 7 a.m.2 p.m. on Saturday and from 7 a.m.-noon on Sunday.
80th birthday
Glenna Bragg of Washburn recently celebrated her 80th birthday with her daughters, family and friends at the Par and Grill in Caribou.
Gifts were open, and a cake made by Lisa Longley was served. Ellie Jordan passed out homemade candy treats to all who were there.
