August Fest plans already underway

    It’s not too early to be thinking about Washburn August Festival 2016. Community participation is what makes it happen.

    Do you have any new ideas or are you yearning to bring back a former event? Would you like to give back to your community? Then please come to the next meeting, which will be Feb. 10, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Washburn Rec Center.

Quilt Raffle

    The Washburn Trailrunner’s Club is raffling off a quilt. The wildlife-themed quilt, made by some of the ladies from Washburn’s Stitchin’ and a Givin’ group, is 75” x 85”.
    Only 200 tickets will be sold at $10.00 each. Tickets can be purchased at the Trailrunners Clubhouse on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., Sunday between 7 a.m. and 12 noon, and during the clubhouse’s open hours during the school vacation week in February.
    The drawing for the quilt will be on March 27th at 2 p.m.

Clubhouse open

    Washburn’s Trailrunners Clubhouse is now open weekends throughout the snowmobile season for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and for lunch on Saturdays. They will be serving from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday and from 7 a.m.-noon on Sunday.

Birthdays

    Those celebrating a birthday between Feb. 10 and 16 include Lyman Sperrey, Fred Maynard, Jordan McLaughlin, Valerie Flood, Mitchell Wilcox, Doug Conroy, Freeman Corey, Emily Driscoll and Kathy Corey.

Anniversaries

    Those celebrating an anniversary between Feb. 10 and 16 include Gene and Andrea Bragdon, Bruce and Sally Blakney, Paul and Diane DuMont and Brian and Pam Morris.
