HAMDEN – Joyce Orser Warner, 91, died peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Hamden Healthcare Center, Hamden. She was the beloved wife of the late John Warner. Joyce was born in Mars Hill, Maine, on January 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Austin and Melivina Jameson Orser, and had resided in Hamden for most of her life. She was a clerk and bookkeeper for the former D.F. Warner Co. of Hamden for more than forty years, and later worked as a desk attendant for the Hamden YMCA for 20 years until 2008. Joyce had a keen sense of humor which she shared with everyone, and always a joke to tell.
She is survived by a son, Carl Allen Warner of Hamden; two brothers, Dean Orser and his wife, Margaret of Hamden, and Harry Orser and his wife, Rhonda of Mars Hill; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her infant son, Peter John Warner; two sisters, Audrey Mills and Clarbelle Tuck Orser; and one brother, David Orser.
Joyce’s family received relatives and friends on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT.
A funeral service took place at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Hamden Plains Cemetery, Hamden.
