Annual town meetings get underway

Annual town meetings are slated starting next week for the towns of Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman, as listed below. All warrants may be viewed at www.mapleton.me.

Mapleton:  Mapleton’s annual town meeting will be Monday, March 21, at the Mapleton Lions Hall.
Polls will open at 3 p.m. and close at 7 p.m. Residents will be voting for two Select Board members, one assessor and one Sewer District trustee.
The town meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
Castle Hill: Castle Hill’s annual town meeting will be Tuesday, March 22, at the Castle Hill Grange Hall.
Polls will open at 3 p.m. and close at 7 p.m. In addition to voting for two Select Board members and one assessor, residents will be voting on whether or not to adopt the proposed Land Use Ordinance and the proposed Barking Dog Ordinance.
The town meeting will begin at 7 p.m. to vote on the remaining warrant articles.
Chapman: Chapman’s annual town meeting will be Monday, March 28, at the Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club.
The meeting opens at 7 p.m. and residents will be voting for one selectman/assessor for a three-year term and one selectman for a two-year term.
In addition to the budgetary and business-related warrant articles, residents will vote on whether or not to adopt the Barking Dog Ordinance.

 

Mapleton Alumni

    The Mapleton Alumni Association will hold their annual meeting on Wednesday, March 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Gloria Wilcox, 90 Pelkey Road, Mapleton.
Planning for the alumni banquet and other business will be discussed at that time. All Mapleton alumni are welcome.
