CARIBOU, Maine — The Northern Maine Community College Foundation, a nonprofit committed to ensuring scholarship availabilities and strengthening college programs, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program for the month of March.
The program is designed to create revenue streams for deserving local nonprofits like the NMCC Foundation. For every blue Hannaford Helps reusable bag purchased at the Caribou Hannaford during the month of March, the Foundation will receive a $1 donation in order to help fulfill its mission of providing excellent, affordable educational opportunities. The bags retail for $2.29.
“We’re very grateful that the leadership of the Caribou Hannaford chose the Foundation as one of their recipients,” said Gregg Collins, chair of the Foundation. “While shoppers are doing their part for the environment by purchasing reusable bags, they will also be helping their neighbors who are striving for a higher education at Northern Maine Community College.
“For those who shop at the Caribou Hannaford, we encourage you to consider purchasing the so-called ‘Good Karma’ bags for this worthy cause.”
