Edward Jones earns ‘best companies’ rank
PRESQUE ISLE — Financial services firm Edward Jones has been ranked No. 10 on Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For 2016” list in its 17th appearance on the prestigious list, according to Gretchen Morse, financial adviser at the company’s Presque Isle office.
In the employee survey on which the ranking is predominantly based, 94 percent of Edward Jones associates said they have pride in the work they do, and 95 percent of associates say that overall, Edward Jones is a great place to work.
“Edward Jones has strong values, such as belief in the individual and in relationships, and treating our clients and our associates as we would like to be treated,” Morse said. “It shapes the way we do business every day: face-to-face service from the communities where our clients live and work.”
To determine the ranking, Fortune partners annually with Great Place to Work to survey a random sample of employees about their attitudes about management’s credibility, overall job satisfaction and camaraderie. This represents two-thirds of a company’s score. The other third is based on the company’s responses to questions about pay and benefit programs, hiring practices, internal communications, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.
The financial services company has garnered top-10 finishes for 13 years, top-five rankings for six years and consecutive No. 1 rankings in 2002 and 2003. Last year, the firm ranked No. 6 overall. In addition to the “best companies to work for” ranking, Edward Jones was also named a great place to work for women and for millennials.
