Pageant crowns new Pre-Teen, Teen Miss
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — On Saturday, April 9, 2016, the Presque Isle High School Class of 2018 sponsored the Pre-Teen and Teen Miss Presque Isle pageant at Presque Isle High School.
Crowned Pre-Teen Miss Presque Isle was Kayleigh Jean Perry, daughter of Danielle and Justin Perry, while the Teen Miss Presque Isle crown was captured by Mayce Kinney, the daughter of Kimberly Kinney and Jirad Kinney.
In the Pre-Teen Miss event, Perry performed an acro-jazz routine to “Get Dancing” by the Disco Tex, and was sponsored by Moon Dance Studio of Presque Isle.
First runner-up was Jorja Lynds Maynard, daughter of Lindsey and Jonathan Maynard. She was sponsored by Ben’s Trading Post and performed a tap dance routine to “Come Get it Bae” by Pharrel Williams.
During the Teen Miss competition, Kinney sang “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from the musical program “Glee.” She also received the award for high ticket sales and was voted to receive the friendship award by the other contestants. Her sponsor for the event was Studio Looks of Presque Isle.
McKenna LaFave was chosen the first runner-up in the pageant. Sponsored by Francis LaFave, she signed the song “One Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.
The second runner-up title went to Rachel Rae Drost, daughter of Tracy Drost. She was sponsored by Ernest Drost and for her talent, she sang “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert.
