WASHBURN – Charlene Mae Maynard, 86, passed away Saturday morning, April 23, 2016, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born January 26, 1930, in Washburn, the daughter of Harden and Bessie (Stairs) Corey.
She worked at McCain Foods for 30 years and then part time at MFX of Caribou for seven years. Charlene joined Lidstone Memorial United Methodist Church in 1980 and was very active in the United Methodist Women. She volunteered at Maine Veterans Home, and she loved dancing, music, doing crafts, fishing and camping.
She is survived by a son, Darrell Maynard of Washburn; seven daughter: Bonnie Lavway and her husband, Dale of Washburn, Deanna Gilbert and her husband, John of Caribou, Jacalyn Riberdy of Washburn, Deborah Zoller of Washburn, Barbara Bird of Van Buren, Sally Carde and her husband, Richard of Presque Isle, and Robyn Keener and her husband, of Monroe, GA; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Perley Maynard in 2007; four brothers: James, Wallace, Harold and Merlin Corey.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A graveside service will be held later this spring at Crouseville Cemetery with Pastor Ellen Cleaves officiating. Donations may be made in her memory to Lidstone Memorial United Methodist Church.
