|$3,000 tool theft in Bridgewater
BRIDGEWATER, Maine — The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office is searching for whoever stole more than $3,000 worth of tools from a Bridgewater farm sometime between Dec. 31, 2015, and Jan. 1, 2016.
The crime has been highlighted as the Crime Stoppers Crime of the Month for April.
According to officials at the sheriff’s office, Kingsbury Farm employees first reported that the tools were missing on Jan. 1.
Workers told police that after they left at approximately 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, a burglar went into the potato house and stole a large number of battery-powered impact wrenches and tools. The workers realized what had happened when they came back the next day at approximately 7 a.m.
When deputies arrived on scene, according to a written statement, they spoke with the mechanic at the farm, who gave them a list of the items that had been stolen.
According to the sheriff’s office the highest value tools stolen were a ½ inch Snap-on 18 volt rechargeable impact wrench, valued at nearly $550 dollars. The burglar also stole a ¾ inch Snap-on air impact wrench, valued at $1,000.

Anyone providing information that leads to a grand jury indictment on this crime is eligible for a $1,000 award. Crime Stoppers also will pay for information on other felony crimes.
