Eat Well seeks volunteers
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking volunteers for its Eat Well nutrition education program in Aroostook County.
A four-week training session will be held on Fridays, May 13 through June 3, 2016 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Extension office, 57 Houlton Road, Presque Isle.
Participants will be trained to teach clients at food pantries and community meal sites about food preparation, safety and nutrition. After training, participants will provide 30 hours of volunteer service throughout July and August instructing clients with lesson plans and teaching materials provided by UMaine Extension.
Fresh produce grown and donated by Randy Martin, owner of The King’s Gardener in Presque Isle, will be provided.
