    MAPLETON – Debi Gagnon Sowers, 61, passed away Sunday evening, May 15, 2016, at TAMC in Presque Isle. She was born Sept. 15, 1954, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Arsen R. and Josephine Mae (Willett) Gagnon. SH DavidSowersOB
    Debi married her soulmate and love of her life, David E. Sowers, on July 14, 1973, in Fort Fairfield. David served four years in the Marine Corp, retiring as Major of the Maine Army National Guard, and preceded her in death on May 7, 2016. She spent her career working in food service for MSAD #1, where she was head cook at Presque Isle Middle School.
    She is survived by her son, David Sowers Jr. of Mapleton; her daughter, Desiree Sowers of Caribou; her son, Carter Sowers of Mapleton; her granddaughter, Cassidy McGrath of Caribou; her siblings: Jeanne Hafford of Milli-nocket, Ron and Jennifer Gagnon of Leba-non, NH, Caroline and Larry Ford of Bruceton, TN, Gloria and Joe Chamberlain of Woodland, Brenda and Cary Cantonwine of Castle Rock, CO, Joyce Taylor of South Daytona, FL, Sheila and James Roy Parrish of Chelsea, Bob and Bonnie Gagnon of Mapleton, Tom and Janet Gagnon of Mapleton; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, David, and her little brother, Walt.
    A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    MAPLETON — David E. Sowers died on May 7, 2016, at TAMC after a long illness. He was born September 29, 1949, in Houlton. American Flag Color
    He was married to his soulmate, Debi J. Gagnon, for 43 years until she passed away on May 15, 2016, at TAMC.
    He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy E. Levasseur Sowers; a brother, James R. Sowers; and a sister, Lucille Sowers.
    He is survived by his sons, David E. Sowers, Jr., and Carter J. Sowers of Mapleton; a daughter, Desiree Sowers of Caribou; a granddaughter, Cassidy McGrath of Caribou; his father, Earl J. Sowers of Mapleton; a sister, Rosemary Sowers Piccolella of Caribou; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all who will miss him dearly.
    David served his country proudly in the Marines for four years and one year in the reserves duning Vietnam. He then transferred to the Army National Guard for twenty years where he retired as a Major. He also worked with SAD 1 school department and ran the bus garage for many years. He also helped with the building plans of the Ashland school.
    David has gotten many awards and certificates, both in work and the military. He loved family, friends, animals, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
