TROOP F REPORT

HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to 117 calls for service during the week of May 16-22, 2016.
Monday, May 16
– Trooper Sylvia began investigating a theft in Island Falls on Sewall Street. The caller reported two tool boxes were taken from the back of his truck. The case remains under investigation.
Friday, May 20
– Cpl. Michaud and Trooper Curtin responded to Woodland for a family fight where a male and female were arguing and the male requested to have the female removed. Both parties were interviewed and no crime occurred. The female was prepared to leave on her own and did so.
– Cpl. Michaud, Troopers Casavant and Curtin along with Sgt. Haines responded to a residence in Caswell to back up the Sheriff’s Office on an underage drinking party which reportedly had 30 minors there. Upon arrival the party consisted of roughly six people who were all adults and was more a dispute between neighbors. The owner was warned for disorderly conduct due to the noise level.
– While working traffic Trooper Saucier stopped a 27-year-old Houlton man on the Interstate in Sherman and found that he was operating after suspension. The man was charged accordingly.
– Cpl. Michaud, Troopers Casavant and Curtin along with Sgt. Haines conducted an OUI checkpoint on Route 89 in Limestone. Numerous vehicles were checked and none of the operators were found to have been drinking.
Saturday, May 21
– Trooper Pescitelli investigated a family fight between a pregnant woman and her fianc√©. The couple was fighting about money and the argument became more heated. When the woman told her fianc√© that she was going to stay with her mother the man started throwing things to include a coat rack that struck her in the back. The man went outside and the woman locked the door. The man kicked the door to get back inside the trailer and when the door was forced open it hit the woman in her nose cutting it and making it bleed. The man also took a tool box and a cinder block throwing it through the driver’s side window breaking the glass. The man was arrested for DV assault and criminal mischief.
– Trooper Saucier investigated a family fight where a heated argument broke out during a custodial child exchange and threats were made. Both parties were interviewed and agreed they did and said things to enrage their former spouse. Nothing physical occurred and no crime were committed during the exchange. A PFA was recommended and both parties declined and agreed to be civil in the future for the sake for the children and their joint custody agreement.
Sunday, May 22
– Tr. Levesque arrested a man for OUI/liquor as the result of a traffic stop at an undisclosed location. The 41-year-old man was cooperative during the stop and arrest.
– Cpl. Quint arrested a man during a traffic stop that had a sealed warrant for domestic violence assault and criminal restraint. The man was a passenger in a vehicle that Trooper Pescitelli and Cpl. Quint were looking for the previous night for an alleged hit and run crash.
– Trooper Sucy arrested a man from Shin Pond for violating his conditions of release. The trooper conducted a bail check on the man and he admitted to using methamphetamines that morning. Trooper Sucy found methamphetamines in the man’s pockets. He was arrested and transported to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.
