Movies, concerts slated at pavilion

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine  Riverside Park will be the site of music, movies and more this summer, as plans are underway for a full schedule of activities.

Mandy Pooler Hall, chair of the Downtown Revitalization Committee’s promotions subcommittee, said, “This is going to be a fun-filled summer in downtown Presque Isle with something for everyone to enjoy. In addition to the Public Market in the new pavilion structure, and Sundays by the Stream and Mondays on Main concerts, we also will have the Movies in the Park series again this year.
Additionally, said Pooler Hall, there are the First Friday art walks, athletic events such as the Color Run 5K and the Redy Youth Triathlon, and the Balloon Fest Street Festival. “We are very excited about this new lineup of events. The Downtown Revitalization Committee is committed to bringing more people downtown and showcasing our beautiful city. ”
Movies in the Park will kick off this Friday, May 27, 2016 with “Rescue Dawn.” These free outdoor movies will take place roughly every other week down by the new Public Market pavilion. Other dates include June 10 with “Pan”; June 24, “Jem and the Holograms”; July 8, “Goosebumps”; July 22, “Shaun the Sheep”; Aug. 12, “Minions”; Aug. 26, “Up”; Sept. 9, “The Good Dinosaur”; Sept. 23, “Norm of the North”; and Octo. 7, “The Sixth Sense.”
