Easton principal names graduation honor parts

EASTON, Maine The principal of Easton Junior/Senior High School, Cameron Adams, has announced the honor parts for the graduation ceremonies of the Class of 2016. The graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, June 10.

Representing the class will be Emma Bonner, valedictorian; Logan Halvorson, salutatorian; Blake Bradley, first honor essayist; and Drew Sotomayor, second honor essayist.
Bonner is the daughter of John and Theresa Bonner. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years, serving a term as northern regional representative. She has been a member of the Spanish club for two years and has participated in student government, serving as class treasurer for two years.
She has also been a member of the Varsity Club for four years, serving a term as president, and has been involved in the one-act plays for four years. She has been a member of the varsity basketball and varsity soccer teams, serving as captain her senior year. She has been a member of the volleyball team for four years and played junior varsity basketball for three years.
Bonner received highest honors for four years. She will be attending the United States Air Force Academy, concentrating on military and strategic studies.
Halvorson is the son of Philip and Barbara Halvorson. He has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and has been a member of the Student Council and Varsity Club for four years. He also participated in Junior Exhibition and the one-act play. He has been an active member of the Math Team as well.
He has been on the honor roll for four years and has been a member of the varsity basketball team for four years, serving as captain in his senior year. He received All Aroostook Basketball honors for two years. He has been a member of the varsity soccer team for four years, serving as captain his senior year. He received All Aroostook Soccer honors for two years, as well. He also played volleyball all four years.
Halvorson will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle, studying Business Administration.
Bradley is the daughter of Brent and Tina Bradley. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, serving as the regional vice president. She has been a member of the Student Council for four years, serving two terms as treasurer. She has been a member of the Varsity Club for four years. She also participated in Junior Exhibition, the senior play and the one-act play.
She has been a member of the Math Team as well. She was a member of the Eastonia yearbook staff for two years serving in the roles of assistant editor and editor. She has also been a member of the Envirothon for four years and participated in the band. She has been a member of the varsity basketball team for four years, serving as captain in her senior year. She was also honored as a member of the All Aroostook Senior All Star team. She also played junior varsity basketball for three years, serving as captain, and was a member of the varsity soccer team and the volleyball team for four years.
Bradley will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle, studying environmental science.
Sotomayor is the son of Mark and Julie Sotomayor. He has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years. He has participated in student government, serving as class president for three years, student council for four years and served one year as vice president. He has been a member of the Varsity club for four years. He also participated in Junior Exhibition and the one-act play. He has been an active member of the Math Team as well, and has been on the honor roll for four years.

Sotomayor will be attending Northern Maine Community College then transferring to the University of Maine at Presque Isle, studying electrical construction maintenance and wind power technology at NMCC and business at UMPI.
