TOWNSHIP 9, RANGE 5, Maine A Bangor woman escaped injury Thursday afternoon when her vehicle struck a moose on Route 11 just south of Masardis, according to police.

Michelle Warhola, 60, was driving her 2007 Honda CR-V southbound in Township 9, Range 5, when she struck the moose, Aroostook County Sheriff Darrell Crandall said in a statement issued Friday.
Warhola was not injured, but the moose died and the vehicle was severely damaged, according to Crandall.
