EASTON NEWS

The Easton Elementary School library staff is pleased to announce that they are a recipient of 25 Amazon Kindle Fires, thanks to a grant from the Cole Family Foundation.

These Kindles are specifically intended for use in grades K-5 and can be loaded with many book titles for library and classroom use. They will be integrated into library and classroom lessons this fall.
In return, students and staff of grades 3-6 visited the Cole Land Transportation Museum Thursday, June 2. The tour was very informative and full of historical archives of Maine’s transportation history.

The Spanish Club, along with three chaperones, traveled to Puerto Rico during April vacation. The students experienced food, language, science and history.
They visited several different places on the island, including, El Yunque rainforest, El Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Old San Juan. They were given Salsa lessons and were treated to some wonderful food at the 8A hacienda (ranch).
They also kayaked to Laguna Grande to experience the bioluminescent bay. They strolled through the Camuy caverns and on the last day the beautiful Old San Juan and it’s cobblestone streets. It was a trip worth taking.
