PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Recreation Center will be taking pre-paid registrations June 13-24 for the upcoming session of classes, set for June 27-Aug. 5.
Lessons will be held at Gentile Hall at the University of Maine Presque Isle and there are openings in the following classes:
Parent/Toddler (6 months to 3 years), which requires an adult to be in the water, has spaces available Tuesday, 9-9:25 a.m.; or Thursday, 6-6:25 p.m.
PRE 1-Ages 3-5, for those not comfortable in the water, has openings Monday, 3-3:25 and 6-6:25 p.m.; Tuesday, 10-10:25 a.m.; Wednesday, 3:30-3:55 p.m. or Friday, 11-11:25 a.m.
PRE 2 (for ages 3-5, comfortable in the water) offers sessions Monday, 3-3:25, 3:30-3:55 p.m. and 6:30-6:55 p.m.; Tuesday, 9:30-9:55 a.m. and 4-4:25 p.m.; Wednesday, 3-3:25 p.m. and 4:30-4:55 p.m.; Thursday, 3-3:25, 3:30-3:55 and 6:30-6:55 p.m.; or Friday 9-9:25 and 11-11:25 a.m.
PRE 3 (ages 3-5, swimming) has openings Monday, 3:30-3:55 p.m.; Tuesday, 10:30-10:55 a.m. and 4:30-4:55 p.m.; Wednesday, 4-4:25 p.m.; or Friday, 9:30-9:55 a.m.
Learn to Swim 3-4 classes are held Monday, 4-4:50 and 5-5:50 p.m.; Wednesday, 3-3:50 p.m. and 6-6:50 p.m.; or Thursday, 4-4:50 and 5-5:50 p.m.
Learn to Swim 5-6 is offered Tuesday, 9-9:50 a.m. and 6-6:50 p.m. or Thursday, 9-9:50 a.m.
Adapted lessons, for children with autism, requires an adult in the water. There are openings Tuesday, 3-3:50 p.m.
Shallow water exercise classes are held Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10-10:50 a.m. Costs vary depending on the number of classes pre-registered for.
Recreation center hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Swimming lessons have a $25 fee per participant. Non-residents will have an additional family fee of $50. For more information, call 764-2545 or visit the website www.pirec.org.
