Class of 2016 graduates in Washburn

Washburn District High School seniors graduated on Friday, June 3, 2016.

The Class of 2016 marched into a full gymnasium to “Pomp and Circumstance,” played live by a small group of the Washburn band students.

The graduates all wore green ribbons to symbolize kidney awareness in remembrance of Savannah Theriault, a classmate, who recently passed away. There was also an empty chair onstage with the group where Savannah would have sat.

The 2016 class Valedictorian was Noah Caron and the Salutatorian was Laina Mette, both of whom gave addressed the students and audience.

It was a wonderful ceremony and we wish the Class of 2016 the best of luck in their future endeavors.
