BANGOR — Helena Ann (Jordan) Dunlavey, died June 13, 2016 at Winterberry Heights Assisted Living Facility in Bangor after a long illness. She was born the daughter of Wilmont and Violey (Goven) Jordan on August 27, 1941 in Presque Isle.
Helena graduated from Presque Isle High School and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She was a special Education teacher in speech therapy for SAD #1, SAD #75 in Topsham and Brunswick School Depart-ment for several years prior to becoming a Real Estate Broker with Century 21 in Brunswick, ME, until she retired.
She loved her Lord and started each day with her daily devotions. She was active in the Women’s Ministry in the churches she attended and was a talented musician and singer. Her family always came first and she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi) and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William (Billy) Dunlavey; daughters, Beverly Kus of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Penny Sprague of Brunswick; son, Steven Dunlavey of Durham, ME; grandchildren Hannah Sprague and Nathan Sprague both of Brunswick and Sydney Dunlavey of Durham; sisters, Geraldine Shaw Whittaker and Marilyn Lunney of Presque Isle, Roberta (Edward) Hagerman of Topsham, Wilma (William) Burbury of Brooksville, Fla., and Diana (Wade) Smith of Deltona, Fla.; and brother-in-law, David Dunlavey and his wife, Diane, of Mapleton. Â In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Roy Shaw, Jr. and John Whittaker.
