BRIDGEWATER – Leona Plourde, 78, passed away June 21, 2016, at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. She was born October 6, 1937, in St. Louis Du-ha-ha, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Paul and Lillian (Morin) Veilleux. She owned and operated Bridgewater Inn, and worked at Vahlsing’s Potato Processing plant in Easton. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at the hospital in Presque Isle.
She is survived by two daughters, Jennie Otto of Beverly Hills, FL, and Theresa “Kathee” Zelinski and her husband, Jack of Lisbon; a brother, Paul-Emile Veilleux of Anger, Quebec; a sister, Romea Chariest of Edmundston, NB, Canada; four grandchildren, Mark and Joshua Zelinski, Marci Green, and Katie Otto; two great-grandchildren, Michael Hutchison III, and America Belle Zelinski; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wed., June 29, 2016, at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill, with Rev. Kyle Doustou officiating. Online condolences may be shared at duncan-graves.com.
