Burglars hit market

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – RMJ Market, located on Allen Street, fell victim to burglars Jan. 27.
     The Presque Isle Police Department were contacted around 3:45 a.m. by a newspaper delivery person who reported they’d found a window broken at the store. Police responded and confirmed the window was broken and the store had been burglarized.
Owner Roger Pelkey was contacted.
Officers Kevin Schumacher and Dennis Quint handled the investigation. The owner of the store indicated to police that approximately $200 in merchandise had been taken, including beer. Officers conducted a track and located two possible suspects at a residence a few streets away.
Evidence at the scene was taken to the PIPD for processing.
The case remains under investigation. No arrests have been made but police have at least two possible suspects at this time.
