Herweh joins MMG
Company names new HR director
PRESQUE ISLE — MMG Insurance Company recently announced that John Herweh has been promoted to vice president and director of human resources, a position which became effective July 5.
John Herweh replaces MMG’s previous vice president and director of human resources, Lynn Lombard, who retired July 1, 2016 after a 45-year career with the company.
Herweh brings nearly 20 years of experience from human resource management and senior technical roles within mid-sized to large companies. Prior to joining MMG, his immediate previous position was vice president of human resources with a government contract IT services firm located in Washington DC. Previously, Herweh held employee relations and senior staffing roles with Perdue Farms and the Hershey Company.

Shaw continued “We are also looking forward to John contributing his high level of experience in strategic workforce planning as MMG continues to grow and expand.”
Herweh has a degree in business management from Gettysburg College and a master of business administration from Salisbury University. He has completed certificate programs including senior professional in human resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute and senior certified professional from the Society of Human Resource Management, and is a Franklin Covey certified facilitator.
Recently, he retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves after a 28-year military career.
He resides in Presque Isle with his wife, Dixie, and their three children — Gabe, Faith and Hope.
