Golfers join fight against cancer
C-A-N-C-E-R (Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education & Recovery) held its 17th annual golf tournament at Presque Isle Country Club June 25, 2016.
Participating in the fundraiser on the beautiful summer day were 28 teams consisting of golfers from the Aroostook County communities of Presque Isle, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Easton, Mars Hill, Ashland and Portage, as well as some from towns downstate and a few from across the border in New Brunswick.
All proceeds from this fundraiser remain in Aroostook County and help cancer patients in treatment along with their families.
Women’s first gross winners were Jenna Hallett, Sandy Beaupre, Alexis Madore and Betty Deveau, while claiming women’s first net were Courtney Lovely, Kati Roy, Kelly Cole and Ann Sirois.
Taking men’s first gross was the team of Mike Collins, Aaron Keirstead, Shawn Doyen and Joe Greaves, while first net went to the foursome of Jamie Leavitt, Jon Daisey, Brandon McLaughlin and Jon Dumas.
