Rotary Club meets
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met July 19 at the Aroostook Health Center and the guest speakers were Tim and Callie Faulkner and Paul Howlett. They spoke about the Bridges of Hope Youth Center that will be opening this year. They are planning on being up and running by Labor Day.
This is a non-denominational, Christian based non-profit center for the town’s youth to utilize. Their mission states: “The sole desire of Bridges of Hope is to reach all kids, teens and those in need in our area with hope, unconditional love and acceptance; to provide a bridge of hope for all to find the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Programs planned include tutoring, counseling, feeding, clothing, work exchange, life skill building, art and music, sports, homework help, college and scholarship connections, traveling and more. They want to provide a safe and fun hangout for the area youth.
They are seeking partners to help in all aspects of the center. You can help financially with donations to help finish paying for the property and monthly expenses, by volunteering your time or by keeping the center in your prayers.
