    MCCRUM, Norma, 88, Mars Hill, July 23, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 29, at 1 p.m., at the United Baptist Church in Mars Hill. Arrangements are in the care of Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.

    MARS HILL — Norma McCrum, 88, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at her residence.
    She was born September 8, 1927, in Blaine, the daughter of Arthur and Irma (Chase) Terrell. Norma grew up in E. Plantation and went to Aroostook Central Institute. She then married the love of her life, Bertram McCrum on November 20, 1946. Norma worked alongside Bert on the family farm and together raised three children, Graydon, Galen, and Ethelyn. She also worked for twenty years as a cook at the Northern Maine Technical College. Norma was a very loving lady who never missed a birthday or any other special occasion that was to be recognized. Norma had a passion for gardening, berrying, canning and cooking, especially for others. She was also a longtime member of the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill.
    Norma is survived by her loving husband of seventy years Bertram McCrum, three children, Graydon McCrum of Fort Fairfield, Galen McCrum and his wife Becky of Canton, GA, Ethelyn Boyd and her husband Fred of Mars Hill, ten grandchildren, Jon McCrum and his wife Melissa of Mars Hill, Tim McCrum and his wife Amy of Bangor, Ryan MacNaughton and his wife Kate of Clermont, FL, Brandon McCrum and his wife Molly of Concord, NH, Brooke Browning and her husband Mick of Fort Fairfield, Todd McCrum and his wife Michelle of Cumming, GA, Leslie Prince and her husband Brad of Cumming, GA, Ryan McCrum and his wife Cindy of Avon Lake, OH, Jennifer Whitcomb and her husband Wayne of Monroe, Aaron Boyd and his wife Jessica of Hermon, twenty-five great grandchildren. She also will be remembered by a daughter-in-law Bonnie McCrum of Mars Hill, three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Terrell of Blaine, Priscilla Phillips and her husband Mike of Westfield, Earlene Duruttya and her husband Andy of Hummelstown, PA, a “special sister-in-law” Marjorie Bainbridge and her husband Clarence of Clermont, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. There are also many athletes and FFA members from Central Aroostook High School who thought of Bert and Norma as grandparents. Bert would often drive the bus to many events and Norma as always was by his side. She always had cookies and other items she baked, a great smile and a warm heart for all the kids.
    In addition to her parents she was predeceased by five siblings, Charles Terrell, Kathleen Griffin, Rowena Grass, Jake Terrell, Greta Terrell, and a daughter-in-law Jo-Ann McCrum. Relatives and friends may call 11a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at the United Baptist Church of Mars Hill, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mitch Ross officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Pierce Cemetery, Mars Hill. A time of reception and remembrance will take place in the church fellowship hall following the committal.
