Tour aids food pantry

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine Four local churches will collaborate to present a garden tour Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. to benefit the Grace Interfaith Food Table (GIFT) food pantry.

Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, the Presque Isle Congregational Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church will sponsor the event, featuring six local gardens. Participants may purchase a ticket for $10, which will allow them to visit any or all of the sites. All proceeds will go to the pantry.
Participating gardeners include: Roberta Griffiths, 369 Fort Fairfield Rd.; Anne Hemphill, 193 Easton Rd.; Tammy Walton, 8 Dupont Dr.; Suzanne Hews, 254 Easton Rd.; Terry Kilcollins, 7 Bridgeport Ct.; and Donna Keegan, owner of Myrtle Tree, 369 Fort Fairfield Road. Keegan and Ravenswood Gift Shop owner Debbie Ames will donate 10 percent of purchases to GIFT.
Tickets are available at Goin’ Postal, Myrtle Tree and any of the four churches. On the day of the tour they will be sold at the Methodist Church starting at 9:30 a.m.
