Pokemon offers real benefits

To the editor:
Pokemon Go has actually not only allowed my son with Aspergers to meet new people and begin to talk to new folks with similar interests, but he has begun to make new friends. Something he never did while in public school.

And thanks to Pokemon we’re making plans to go to new friends’ houses and hang out. Not only that but I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression for years. Thanks to Pokemon, I’m going out of my house and sharing a common interest with others and making new friends myself. I have at least one new friend that I communicate with regularly.
The post office and the church across the street are Poke Stops where you can get item drops. People put lures on them and it draws the more rare Pokemon to them. The more people that are there the more rare the Pokemon. So that is why you will see people flocking there.
I love the camaraderie of the game. You gather Pokemon, and items, and then the teams take on each other’s gyms. It’s been great for my son and I.
