United Way invites kids to reading party
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Calling all kids: the United Way of Aroostook will host a Summer Reading Celebration Day on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016 at the Aroostook Centre Mall in Presque Isle.
The event will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and will include lots of fun activities for children of all ages. All children will receive a free book and other prizes.
In addition, hosts will draw the winners of the Pine Street Elementary School Summer Slide Challenge, a reading program for first-graders, and a kite giveaway will be sponsored by The Aroostook Medical Center.
Bess the Book Bus and the Wintergreen Arts Center’s WOW wagon will be there, along with the St. Apollonia Dental Clinic, Aroostook Autism Support and Giving Tree Music.
