CLARK, Reginald H., 79, Fort Fairfield, at Caribou, August 28, 2016. A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, at the Celebration Center, Fort Fairfield. Arrangements are under the care of Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
FORT FAIRFIELD — Reginald H. Clark, 79, passed away Sunday morning, August 28, 2016 at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Caribou, following an extended illness. He was born January 5, 1937 in Caribou, the son of Reginald G. and Bernice (Anderson) Clark. He attended Caribou schools until moving to Fort Fairfield where he graduated high school.
Reginald served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. He was a member of the Fort Fairfield Bethel Baptist Church for many years. Reg was employed by Commercial Union Insurance as a claims adjuster for close to 30 years until his retirement in 1991. He spent many potato harvests assisting at the Russell farm in the potato house. He was married to Gloria J. Fraser on October 12, 1962 who predeceased him on June 19, 1990.
Reg later married Nancy Levesque on January 16, 1992 with whom he enjoyed twenty-four years of marriage. Reginald greatly enjoyed golf and was a long time member of the Fort Fairfield Aroostook Valley Country Club. He also was an accomplished carpenter and craftsman having made many wonderful creations for family and friends. Reginald was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling to the coast of Maine, however his greatest joy was derived from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and canine “babies” Shadow and Jake.
In addition to his parents, Reginald was predeceased by his first wife, Gloria; and one granddaughter, Megan Clark. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Nancy Clark of Fort Fairfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Kate Clark of Perth, New Brunswick, Stephen and Heidi Clark of Caribou, Scott and Wendy Clark of Fort Fairfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Mike Bolduc of Farmington; two stepchildren, Karen Stack and her husband Stacy of Brewer, Darren Woods and his wife Lisa of Caribou; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Harvey of South Paris; eleven grandchildren, Ashley Clark of Presque Isle, Alicia Clark of Brewer, Matthew Collicott of Perth, New Brunswick, Cassandra and Katelyn Clark, both of Caribou, Brandon Clark and his wife Savannah of Minot, ND, Marisa Clark of Fort Fairfield, Hunter and Brooke Bolduc, both of Farmington, Dustin and Brandon Woods, both of Brewer; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, September 2, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield where a service to Celebrate Reginald’s Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Mark Babin and Brent Churchill officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Clark to C-A-N-C-E-R, P.O.
