Haystack Society plans dinner, auction

 MAPLETON NEWS
By Terry Sandusky

Hello, everyone, from Stockholm, Sweden, where I am writing this week’s column. I am staying in touch with everyone back home and as a result here is an important announcement for your information.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, from 4:30-6 p.m., the Haystack Historical Society will host its annual gourmet baked ham dinner with homemade baked beans, potato salad and special green salad at the historical museum.
Many friends and neighbors considered Ivan Pratt’s baked ham the finest public dinner served in Mapleton. Everyone is invited to the dinner, which will be followed by a charity auction of donated goods and services. This auction is the society’s primary fundraiser for the operation, care and maintenance of the museum.
Again all of the museum’s friends and neighbors are invited to come find a bargain at the auction and in doing so support the continuation of the museum.

Swim Lessons

Please remember to register for swim lessons through the Mapleton Recreation Program at the town office. Every child should learn to swim to help keep them safe. Registration forms are on the Mapleton town website ( http://www.mapleton.me/).
