Thanks to the Lions
To the editor:
I woke early on a rainy Sept. 11, 2016, in Mapleton and had my first cup of coffee. The dreary morning was transformed for me when I looked out my window to see the beautiful red, white and blue flags blowing in the breeze.
The Mapleton Lions organization has once again given us all the opportunity to reflect on just how proud and happy we should be to live in these great United States of America.
Let us never forget our freedoms and our rights that were so eloquently penned long ago by our forefathers in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
These discerning men created a very exceptional country for all of us to live in and enjoy — thank God.
Let us always strive to protect, honor and keep these ideals and principles alive and well.
