Mapleton has new Little Miss

Congratulations to Little Miss Mapleton 2016, Emily Collins, on being crowned Little Miss Potato Queen for 2016 in July during the Potato Blossom Festival. Emily is the daughter of Michelle and Darren Collins. Emily won the title of Little Miss Maine Potato Queen 2016 in July.

Emily’s selection as Little Miss Potato Queen opened up her previous title, and a new Little Miss Mapleton was crowned by Emily on Aug. 2.
The new Little Miss Mapleton 2016 is Rhianna Desjardins. Rhianna is the daughter of Nikki and Josh Poisson and Dave Desjardins. She was crowned at the Mapleton community gazebo with family, friends and Mapleton queens in attendance. Following the crowning ceremony there many congratulations offered to Rhianna at a reception for her and the other Queens attending the event.

Cub Scout Round-up

Jeff Pangburn, Cubmaster for Mapleton Cub Pack 170, announced the upcoming Cub Scout Round-up is to take place on Tuesday September 23, 2016 at the Mapleton Lion’s Hall, Main Street Mapleton, starting at 6 p.m.
Families with boys between the ages of 6 and 10, or are in first through fifth grades, are welcome to attend the Round-up, where they can learn about Cub Scouts and join the Pack that evening.
Pangburn said, “Boys will learn good citizenship, develop character, experience a sense of belonging to a group and have fun and adventure in Cub Scouts.”
