Bean supper proceeds help historical society

There will be a baked bean supper on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5-7 p.m. at the Trailrunners Snowmobile Clubhouse in Washburn.

The supper will include franks, beans, cole slaw, potato salad, apple crisp and Willie’s rolls. Proceeds will benefit the Salmon Brook Historical Society for a new roof on the Wilder Museum House.
This event is sponsored by Washburn Rotary and Salmon Brook Historical Society. The cost is, for adults, a minimum $7 donation, and for children under 12, any donation. Takeout will be available. There will be door prizes and a raffle drawing for the quilt “Summer Play.”
Tickets for the quilt are still available at $1 each or 6 for $5. If you would like to purchase tickets, you may send money for the tickets to Rita Kingsbury, P.O. Box 475, Washburn, ME 04786. Include your name and phone number. Upon receipt of money, books of tickets will be made and deposited.

 

Spaghetti supper

On Friday, Oct. 21st, there will be a spaghetti supper held at the Washburn Trailrunners Clubhouse from 5-7 p.m.
The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for kids under 12, and a family rate of $20 for four or more. Meals will include spaghetti, rolls, green salad, dessert and a drink. Coffee and water will be provided.
Join in starting the year off with a family dinner. All proceeds will benefit the Washburn PTO. If you would like to help or donate, call Angela Farley at 455-8048.

Library information

The Washburn Memorial Library hours are Monday, 1-7 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Girl Scouts meet each Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. downstairs in the King Room.
On Monday, Sept. 19, Beth Brown will be putting on a puppet show for children PreK through age 7. At 4 p.m., children accompanied by an adult will enjoy a show and some crafts.
The Library would like to add to its collection of family history, and needs folks to be willing to give the library a copy of their family history or allow them to photocopy it.
