Kart series concludes with double feature

CARIBOU, Maine — The Northern Maine Karting Association held its season finale Sept. 10, 2016 at Spud Speedway. An extra feature race was held to make up for an earlier rained-out race. In addition, the season’s points champions were crowned and special awards were presented.

For the first feature, results are as follows:
Spud Speedway Kid Karts: first, Gage Theriault, Limestone; second, Parker Bosse, Limestone; third, Kayden Haines, Caribou; and fourth, Avery Lloyd, New Denmark, New Brunswick.
Haney’s Building Specialties Junior Champ Karts: first, Bryan Searles, Presque Isle; second, Hunter Bennett, Prospect; and third, Noah Coventry, Van Buren.
Aroostook Federal Savings and Loan Senior Champ Karts: first, Damian Theriault, Caribou; second, Jason Theriault, Caribou; third, Tom Hale,Westmanland; fourth, Bob Hale, Caribou; and fifth, Mike Coventry, Van Buren.

Second feature results:

Kids Karts: first, Gage Theriault; second, Bosse, Limestone; third, Haines; and fourth, Lloyd.
Junior Champ Karts: first, Searles; second, Bennett; and third, N. Coventry.
Senior Champ Karts: first, D. Theriault; second, J. Theriault; third, Hale; and fourth, M. Coventry.
NMKA Powder Puff: first, Janet Bosse, Caribou; second, Stephanie Ball, Presque Isle; third, Lynn Easler, Easton; fourth, Jayna Bosse, Limestone; and fifth, Kathy Bosse, Caribou.
The Haney’s Building Specialties Junior Champ Kart points champion is Searles, while Damian Theriault captured the points championship for AFSL Senior Champ Kart.
Driver of the Year and Sportsman Award of the Year winner is Junior Champ Kart driver Noah Coventry.
