PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Aroostook County Fund, the Aroostook County Committee (ACC) of the Maine Community Foundation presented a $3,000 grant to the Aroostook Agency on Aging in Presque Isle.
The grant was announced at a special event hosted by the Aroostook County Committee and the community foundation on Sept. 8 at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle, where more than 100 people gathered to celebrate the fund’s 30 years of grantmaking.
“The agency has provided resources which help Aroostook County residents age in place,” said Lori Weston, chair of the ACC.
MaineCF President and CEO Steve Rowe and former and current ACC advisers Kathryn Olmstead, Art Thompson, Gregg Collins and Tim Crowley highlighted three decades of grantmaking. Established in 1986, the Aroostook County Fund, a permanent charitable resource, has awarded 325 grants totaling nearly $750,000 to organizations throughout The County.
