Sorority meets in PI
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine Epsilon Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on Oct. 20 at the home of Judy Kenney.
The business meeting was conducted by president Sue Lougee. Members brought food items to donate to the GIFT food pantry, and decided to purchase a Thanksgiving basket for a family in need.
Judy Kenney reported that Partners for the Arts will sponsor a dance for adults on Saturday, Nov. 5, former Main Street rec center, made possible by Kirk Carroll. The mission of Partners for the Arts is to raise money to host artists in residence at area schools. Ideas for upcoming programs were discussed.
Members decided, since many have recently travelled abroad, the next program will be to view pictures and listen to historical information from their trips.
Tammy Walton reported that Barbara Hews had an amazing 90th birthday party and that many group members attended. Happy Dollars were shared and the 50-50 raffle was won by Judy Kenney.
Following the meeting a fundraiser pound auction took place. Refreshments were served by Ellen Helstrom, Linda Swett and Tammy Walton.
The next meeting will be on Nov. 17 at the home of Tammy Walton.
