BELFAST, Maine — Saturday’s state meet marked the end of the season for Presque Isle and Washburn cross country runners.
The Wildcat boys were the only local team to qualify and they placed last in the 16-team Class B field with 382 points.
Leading the way for PI was junior Max Bartley, who was 50th in 18 minutes and 5.06 seconds. Trace Cyr, a sophomore, came in 59th in 18:18.99.
Brandon McKnight (96th), Jonah Clark (100th) and Joshua Ashton (107th) were the other scoring runners for the Wildcats.
A pair of Presque Isle runners competed in the Class B girls meet. Junior Isabelle Jackson took the 57th position in 21:46.45 and sophomore Madison Jandreau was 59th in 21:49.14.
The Beavers’ Kassandra Farley and Devon Maynard represented their school in the Class C event. Farley was 26th in the girls’ race in 21:19.25 and Maynard was 57th for boys in 19:16.02.
