AMERO, Anne Lucille (McCready), 75, Mapleton and Presque Isle, November 7, 2016. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish of the Precious Blood in Presque Isle on Friday, November 11, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
MAPLETON & PRESQUE ISLE – The Amero family sadly announces the passing of their wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anne Lucille (McCready) Amero on November 7, 2016. Anne died with her family by her side due to complications of dementia.
Anne, age 75, was born on August 12, 1941, to Mabel (McCarthy) and Cecil McCready. She went to school in Presque Isle where she met her one and only true love, Louis Amero. Together they raised a large family of six children. She and Lou enjoyed spending time with each other, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, golfing, and traveling while savoring the local food wherever they went. Anne also loved animals of all species, crossword puzzles, reading, accounting, and shopping on QVC. She enjoyed her jobs as an orthodontic assistant, town clerk for the towns of Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman, and finally retiring from Burrelle’s.
Surviving Anne is her husband of 56 years, Louis; a daughter, Vicki Lynne (Amero) Harris and her husband, LeRoy; five sons: Scott and his wife, Laurie, Brian, Jay and his wife, Carmen, Michael and his wife, Nola, and Matthew and his wife, Dori. She is also survived by her two granddaughter: Jaimee Amero and Katelyn Amero; as well as ten grandsons: Cole Davenport, Caleb Harris, Jeremiah Harris, Jordan Harris, Drew Amero, Dan Amero, David Amero, Nick Amero, Lewis Amero, and Christopher Amero. Last, but definitely not least, she is survived by her four great-granddaughters: Rylee, Rhiaunna, Payton and Paisley; and three great-grandsons: Brayden, Benjamin and Hunter. She also leaves behind her sister, Elizabeth (McCready) Lamb and her husband, Richard as well as step-sister, Patricia (Sanborn) Ingalls and her husband, Wayne. She will be missed by very dear people, Ralph and Janice Wilcox, and Ron and Ann Knight, who were Anne and Lou’s lifetime best friends.
Anne was predeceased by her mother, Mabel; her father, Cecil; her brother, Jonathan; and step-mother, Ruby.
Visitation hours were held on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish of the Precious Blood in Presque Isle on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers and Anne’s love of animals, donations can be made in her name at the Central Humane Society, 26 Cross St., Presque Isle, ME 04769.
