The Penobscot Valley Conference’s all-conference and all-academic teams have been announced for the fall sports season and Presque Isle had several athletes recognized.
In Class B girls’ soccer, the Wildcats’ Madison Michaud, Tori Koch and Savannah Rodriguez made the first team along with Alex Allain, Brianna Saulter and Emi Higgins, all of Hermon; Paige Mason of MDI, Gina Cambria and Soleil Skehan, both of John Bapst; and Maddie Doucette and Searra Herbert, both of Caribou.
Emily Wheaton of Presque Isle was voted to the second team. Other selections were Kayla Massey, Eilidh Sidaway and Gracie Phillipon, all of John Bapst; Olivia Wesley and Kendra Ewer, both of Foxcroft Academy; Oliviah Damboise of Old Town, LIndsey Dodge of Lee Academy/Stearns; Chloe Raymond and Maddie Curtis, both of Hermon; and Hope Shea of Caribou.
PI coach Ralph Michaud came away with Coach of the Year honors and Hermon’s Allain was named Player of the Year.
For Class B boys, Nick Bartlett of Presque Isle garnered first-team honors along with Logan Butera of Foxcroft Academy, Joe Grubb and Owen Mild, both of MDI; Colby Clarke of Ellsworth, James Peterson and Matt Leach, both of Hermon; Alvaro Valls, Paul Branch and Owen Lynch, both of John Bapst; and Andre Rossignol of Caribou.
The second team consists of Khasen Lowe and Jake Kinney, both of Presque Isle; along with Alex Ezzy of Caribou, Trent Mahon of Ellsworth, Nick Ressel and Eli McDonnell, both of MDI; Levi Stedman of Foxcroft Academy, Tanner Ackley and Alex Mooney, both of John Bapst; Austin Sheehan of Old Town and Garrett Trask of Hermon.
The boys’ Player of the Year was John Bapst’s Valls, while Pete McDonnell of John Bapst was the Coach of the Year.
For the All-Academic team were, representing the Presque Isle girls were Tori Koch, Grace Player and Elise Guerrette.
In golf, Presque Isle’s Hunter Flynn earned a spot on the boys’ all-conference squad. Others selected were Percy Zentz and Jarrod Chase, both of George Stevens Academy, Drew Marino of Houlton, Logan Thompson, Max Woodman, Jeff Garfield and Connor McLaughlin, all of Mattanawcook Academy; Isiah Pinkham and Dexter Wright, both of Narraguagus; Cole Daniel, Wes Kauppila, Chris Kauppila, Alex Blackie and Dillon Leland, all of Old Town; Brennan Hubbard of John Bapst and Riley Swanson and Seth Clark, both of MDI.
Libby Boone of the Wildcats made the girls’ all-conference golf team along with McKenzie Plourde and Karavan McGlauflin, both of Penobscot Valley, Samantha Dauphinee of Old Town and Delaney Smith of MDI.
Cross country runners gaining Class B second-team all-conference girls’ honors were Isabelle Jackson and Madison Jandreau, both of Presque Isle. First-team selections were Amanda Boyd and Sarah Hunt, both of John Bapst; Trinity Montigny of Ellsworth, Audree O’Meara of Old Town, Katelyn Osborne of MDI, Katrina Salch of Caribou and Tiara Tardy of MDI.
Joining Jackson and Jandreau on the second team were Louise Chaplin and Emma Strong, both of MDI; Simone Michaud and Ashley Violette, both of Caribou; and Caitlin MacPherson of Ellsworth.
On the boys’ side, the Wildcats’ Max Bartley earned second-team recognition and teammate Trace Cyr received honorable mention.
Members of the first team were Evan Desmond and Dylan Marrero, both of Caribou; Matthew Frost of Ellsworth, Mackenzie Ladd and Ben Spear, both of John Bapst; Nick Reznick of MDI and Connor Poirier of Old Town.
Second-team honorees along with Bartley are Mark Berry and Matthew Shea, both of Ellsworth; Alec Cyr of Caribou, Liam Higgins of MDI, Gavin McDonald of John Bapst and Hunter Willey of Old Town.
