BANGOR, Maine — The 43rd Maine Soccer Coaches All-Star Banquet was held Sunday at the Spectacular Events Center, with All-State teams announced in addition to All New-England, All-America and Coach of the Year honorees.
Locally, Peter Belskis of Ashland was announced as a nominee for NSCAA Region I Coach of the Year in the small school category. Belskis led the Hornets to the Class D state championship this fall.
Making the girls’ Northern Maine State Team were forward Madison Michaud of Presque Isle and forward Mackenzie Carter of Ashland, along with three fellow Aroostook County players — forward Maddie Doucette of Caribou, midfielder Kolleen Bouchard of Houlton and fullback Aspen Flewelling of Houlton.
Earning a berth on the boys’ Northern Maine State Team were fullback Nick Bartlett of Presque Isle and midfielder Ryan Player of Fort Fairfield, along with Caribou forward Andre Rossignol.
All these players were also recognized for making the regional all-star team, as were Tori Koch of Presque Isle, Searra Herbert of Caribou; Megan Cote, Morgan Doughty and Cassidy Pelletier, all of Ashland; and Jadeyn Giberson and Kate Levesque, both of Central Aroostook. For boys, regional all-stars also included Kyle Beaulier of Ashland, Alex Ezzy of Caribou, Jacob Flewelling of Easton and Jonah Daigle, Chris Giberson and Colin Goshorn, all of Fort Fairfield.
