HOLMES, Jarvis, 70, Easton, December 12, 2016. A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are under the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
EASTON – Jarvis Holmes, 70, passed away Monday morning, Dec.12, 2016, at his home. He was born January 16, 1946, in Limestone, the son of Oran and Mary (Pacquin) Holmes Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Jarvis worked for Vahlsing in Easton and then many years as a long-haul truck driver.
He is survived by three brothers, Larry and his wife, Sylvia of Westfield, Doug and his wife, Terresa of Easton, and Dwight and his wife, Joyce of Fryeburg; four sisters, Mona Cyr and her husband, Ned, Delores Strout, all of Presque Isle, Evelyn Stickney Barnes and her husband, Phil of Easton, and Ann White of Bangor; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved furry companions, Foxy and George. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Ryder) Holmes; his son, Billy Holmes; two brothers, Galen and Oran Holmes Jr.; two sisters, Wilma Boyington and Carolyn Longley.
