Church invites public to join living nativity
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Congregational Church will hold its annual living nativity scene on Friday, Dec. 23, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and welcomes the community to join in.
Everyone, including children, is invited to participate. Those who desire may bring a costume to be a shepherd, wise man, Mary, etc., or church members will try to assemble a costume on site.
As costumed figures bring the scene to life, the gathered crowd will sing traditional Christmas carols and hymns. Printed sheets with lyrics will be provided.
Those attending are welcome to bring musical instruments or lend their voices to the evening as the group celebrates the true meaning of the season. Inside the church there will be hot chocolate and popcorn, so people can go in to warm up.
Church members will hold another living nativity prior to the Christmas Eve service, Saturday, Dec. 24, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The service will begin at 7 p.m.
