Youth theater group plans perfornance
Wintergreen’s After School Arts students and their teacher, Playwright Darci Faye, are wrapping up a six-week Youth Theatre session with the production of two plays to be staged at UMPI’s Wieden Auditorium on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at5:15 pm, andThursday, December 22, 2016, at5:15 pm.
A brief reception to follow; admission is free and the performances are open to the public.
On Wednesday, December 21, at5:15 pm, 13 students in grades one through four will perform an original adaptation of the beloved children’s story, “The Ugly Duckling.” Cast members: Samantha Anderson, Hailey Bois, Delilah Chasse, Abigail Collins, Jessie Grenier, Bobbi Guerrette, Faith Herweh, Lariah Langley, Colt Putnam, Leo Stacey, Madelyn Waugh, Evangeline Weatherbee, and Sabine Wells-Puckett. Costuming assisted by Wintergreen Volunteer Ashley Rekem.
OnThursday, December 22, at5:15 pm, four students in grades five and six will perform Wintergreen’s first student-written and designed original play titled, “The Adventures in the World of Luster.” Cast members: Julia Bartley, Janelle Tetreault, Zoey Violette, and Audrey Wimmer.
Wintergreen’s next After School Arts Program, a new children’s musical, “WE ARE MONSTERS,” begins onJanuary 9, 2017, and runs throughApril 15, 2017. The musical will be directed by Playwright Darci Faye, who is to be assisted by UMPI Student Alexandra Kruczek. Presque Isle High School Student Aaron Swanson will serve as musical director and assisted by fellow PIHS students Sawyer O’Donnell for music and Emily Sjoberg for choreography.
