There will be a movie night to benefit the Miss Ashland Pageant on Saturday, Jan. 28, beginning at 2 p.m.
All are invited to join the Ashland Recreation Department hosts for a showing of “I’m Not Ashamed,” an inspiring true story based upon the journal entries of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine high school shooting in 1999.
The movie is rated PG-13. There will be a $5 admission fee and concessions will be sold.
“I’ve always been drawn to hands. I think it’s because it’s the way we touch people,” Scott wrote in her journal.”If one person could go out of their way to show compassion, it could start a chain reaction.”
The Pure Flix production of “I’m Not Ashamed” stars Masey McLain, Ben Davies, Sadie Robertson, Korie Robertson, Jaci Velasquez and Jennifer O’Neill. Based on Rachel’s honest and heartfelt journals, the film is a hope-filled reminder that everyone can make a difference.
