Traffic lights at Main, State to be repaired

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Since before the new year, the traffic lights at Main and State streets in downtown Presque Isle have been flashing yellow and red, respectively, adding another bit of complexity to the intersection along with the recent snowfall.

Presque Isle Public Works Director Dana Fowler said that the city has had a mechanical issue with the lights that was found to be a faulty main controller panel.

The lights have been blinking since the morning of Dec. 31, with Main Street on yellow and State Street on red.

Fowler said a controller panel was ordered, with delivery and installation expected on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
