Chandler Guerrette, a 2013 graduate of Presque Isle High School, tallied the 1,000th point of her collegiate career as the Husson Eagles fell in a hard-fought double overtime road contest Friday to Guilford College of Greensboro, N.C., a team that competed in the second round of the 2016 NCAA tournament.
The senior had a strong all-round game with a season- and game-high 25 points, to go along with seven assists, five steals and three rebounds.
Guerrette shot an impressive 91.7 percent from the free throw line, going 11 for 12 while playing a career-high 41 minutes.
She became the 20th Eagle under veteran coach Kissy Walker to eclipse the 1,000-point mark and is the 22nd player in program history to achieve this feat.
Guerrette was also a 1,000-point scorer at Presque Isle High School under coach Jeff Hudson and was a part of two state championship teams.
