CARIBOU — The American Red Cross in Maine announced on Jan. 3 the addition of Vilma Craig of Ashland to the organization’s Aroostook County Advisory Board of Directors.
Currently, Vilma Craig serves as the chief nurse informatics officer and director of emergency preparedness at The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) in Presque Isle. In this capacity, she coordinates all emergency preparedness activities for the hospital and ensures that state and national regulatory requirements are met.
Additionally, she coordinates and facilitates the implementation and use of electronic medical records on behalf of her nursing colleagues.
For the last 21 years, Craig has resided in Ashland. She obtained her registered nurse diploma from St. Joseph’s Upward Mobility Program and is currently enrolled in the master’s program in nursing at St. Joseph’s College.
In her spare time, Craig sings with the Aroostook River Voices, a community chorus group, and is a member of St. Mark’s Church in Ashland. She enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
